Feature a Market: Los Ranchos Growers' Market

The Los Ranchos Growers' Market, now embarking on its 20th season, has plenty of New Mexico produced delights to satisfy your winter cravings. First, check out Hand to Mouth Farm's selection of greens, whether they be salad greens like lettuce, hearty cooking greens such as kale and collards, or tasty micro greens that will spice up any salad. The market also has some wonderful greenhouse-grown tomatoes available. Looking to add some spice to your Valentine's Day celebration? You'll want to visit the Chile King's booth for a great assortment of dried and smoked hot pepper mixes.

As you walk around the market with your hot cup of tea, coffee or chai, you can warm your hands at the fire pit located across from the music. Our favorite guitarist, Rob Roman, can also warm his hands between sets. As long as the weather holds out, the market will be held outdoors in the tennis court parking lot. In the case of inclement weather, the market will move into the adjacent community barn.

Though the recent cold temperatures could change things a bit, here's what vendors expect to bring to market this month: mushrooms, winter squash, root veggies, pecans, Salad mix, stir-fry greens mix, arugula, assorted greens, micro greens, Nancy's jams/jellies, Lusty Monk Mustard, Los Osos Honey, Cravin' Cookies, Pasta Divina pasta and sauces, pastries, home-made granola, pesto, soup to-go, caponata, house plants, dried herbs, culinary herbal mixes, hot foods, and more! There will also be arts and crafts items for sale from local artisans.

The Los Ranchos Winter Growers' Market takes place on the second Saturday of the month from 10 am to noon at 6718 Rio Grande Blvd. NW.
