Dairy Products
"Dairy establishments," i.e. all producers of dairy products, are specifically excluded from the Environment Department regulations because they are regulated by the New Mexico Department of Agriculture's Milk Inspection Division. Dairy producers do not need to be licensed by the Environment Department. The Milk Inspection Division publishes a list of all dairy producers whom they currently permit - these are the only producers who are permitted to process dairy products. The Milk Inspection Division regulates production facilities, product quality, animal health, labeling, packaging, storage conditions, batch coding, etc.Contact: NMDA Milk Inspection Division, 575-841-9425.
