A Loaf of Bread... Intergalactic Breads

We have four bakers at the Los Alamos Farmers' Market, which is a lot for a small market. But they are quite different from each other, so customers can find a variety of baked goods here. We'll check out the other three later, but this week the spotlight is on Intergalactic Breads.

Amy Quirke is Intergalactic Breads. She's been bringing her rustic artisan breads to market for about ten years, which is a long time to be patting bread into shape. She also now has a bakery located in Santa Fe. Her specialty is flat breads resembling large Danish rolls in shape but not in
ingredients. This is a hearty, folksy dough, stuffed with unusual fillings. Some are sweet--the apple elderberry one is fabulous--while others are savory (you should try the mixed greens version with its garlic bite, or the mushroom and onion one), and the ingredients change with the growing season as some disappear and others come on the scene. Amy also makes loaves of bread that aren't stuffed, and don't forget to try the German coffeecake muffins for breakfast!
