Do not expect to find chile, corn or tomatoes to be at the first market. Those great products take a longer time to grow. Think local weather. Do expect to find carrots, radishes, garlic, honey, beets, greens and other cool season produce when the market first opens. The number of vendors and the amount of produce will increase each week as the season progresses. The type of produce will also vary along with the season. For information on The Farmington Grower's Market contact Jan Tomko at 632-8008 or the Farmington Chamber of Commerce at 325-0279.
Be sure to mark your calendars with the County's Markets schedules. Visiting a market is a great way to spend some time. You never know who you will see there. Be sure to get fresh with your local market this season.
