Winter Conference
Our annual New Mexico Farmers' Markets Meeting will take place Friday and Saturday, February 13th and 14th, in Santa Fe. This conference is a great opportunity for farmers' market managers, staff, volunteers, and/or board members to share ideas and challenges, improve skills, celebrate their successes, and plan for the 2009 market season. Topics at this year's conference will include: developing a volunteer program for your market, getting the most out of the WIC and Senior Nutrition programs, promoting your market in free or low-cost ways, capacity grants, and more.

8:30 am - 9:30 am New market manager meeting
9:30 am - 10:30 am NMFMA board meeting (ALL market managers should plan on attending)
10:30 am - 2:00 pm Workshops (and lunch)
Accommodations: Low-cost overnight accommodations are available at the Sage Inn in downtown Santa Fe. Cost is $56.32 including tax for a double. We will pay for accommodations for two market managers (or one market manager plus spouse) to share a room. Let us know who you would like to share with, or if you prefer your own room, we will contribute $30 per night toward the fee. If you live more than 150 miles away and want to come in Thursday night so you can be here early on Friday, please let us know. We have a block of rooms, but we need to know ASAP how many we will actually need to reserve. If you need to pay for your room or if you are staying any additional nights, please send us a check and we will make the reservation for you.
Registration: Everyone must register ahead of time by sending in the attached form. New Mexico market managers, board members, and vendors attend FREE of charge. Last-minute registrations will be allowed, but folks registering late (after January 30th) will be charged $10 for Friday lunch. Out-of state guests will be charged $75 for the conference, which includes meals. We will send out conference schedules with last-minute information shortly before the conference to registrants.
Location: St. John's United Methodist Church, 1200 Old Pecos Trail, Santa Fe, NM.
Directions: From I-25, take St. Francis Drive north. After a couple of miles and going through about 4 stop lights, turn right on Cordova Rd. Follow Cordova for about 1.5 miles and several more stop lights. The church is at the end of Cordova, at the corner of Old Pecos Trail. From 285 North, come into town on St. Francis Drive, then turn left on Cordova (one block after the intersection.at Cerrillos Rd. Come into the church through the Cordova Rd entrance; our meeting will be held in the Gathering Room.
