GoodFoodNM at the Corrales Growers’ Market

By March 3, 2022News

Corrales Growers’ Market is going on its third year keeping connected to its customers using GoodFoodNM, the New Mexico Farmers’ Marketing Association’s text messaging program, which sends weekly in-season market reminders to subscribing customers of New Mexico farmers’ markets, farm stands, and CSAs, along with tips on seasonal eating, local food, nutrition, and more.

Bonnie Gonzales, president of the executive committee for the Corrales Growers’ Market, said everyone — from market staff and vendors to customers — “loves” GoodFoodNM.

“It helps us stay on the customers’ radar and that’s important,” Gonzales said about GoodFoodNM.

If you want to sign up to receive market reminders when the market is open, recipes, healthy food tips, and more from your favorite New Mexico farmers’ market, farm stand, or CSA, you can opt-in to receive texts in English or Spanish by texting PEACH or DURAZNO to 21333. Once you opt-in, you will be prompted to type in the outlet that you want to receive reminders from. It’s that easy! You won’t receive more than two texts per week, and you can opt-out at any time.

At the Corrales Growers’ Market, Gonzales has seen firsthand that people who opt-in to GoodFoodNM “tend to keep with it.” Some of the feedback she has received about GoodFoodNM includes:

  • Customers enjoy receiving the text messages for both weekly reminders and inspiration for the locally grown food they buy.
  • The program keeps them engaged with their favorite local food shopping outlet and New Mexico’s growers.
  • It’s more convenient for shopping or pickup reminders to go straight to their phone than having to write it down in a calendar or post to the refrigerator.

See above for sample digital images that are provided to help outlets get subscribers signed up to GoodFoodNM.

Gonzales encourages customers to sign up to receive GoodFoodNM texts to keep them informed with the weekly market reminders, and to get the useful tips about locally grown food, links to recipes and nutritional resources, and more!
